What you actually do first
- Week 1: count plant variety — Week 1 · step 1 of 4 · 3 to go. Start from what you already buy — most kitchens are at fifteen or so before anything changes. Count each different plant food once during this week, and start a fresh tally next week rather than carrying the number forward.
- Week 2: count plant variety — Week 2 · step 2 of 4 · 2 to go. Herbs, spices, seeds, and nuts each count once; a single spice drawer can add a handful this week. Count each different plant food once during this week, and start a fresh tally next week rather than carrying the number forward.
- Week 3: count plant variety — Week 3 · step 3 of 4 · 1 to go. Reach for a plant family you skipped in the first two weeks rather than repeating a favourite. Count each different plant food once during this week, and start a fresh tally next week rather than carrying the number forward.
- Week 4: count plant variety — Week 4 · step 4 of 4 · final step. Aim to hold last week’s number with less effort — variety you can only hit once is not a habit. Count each different plant food once during this week, and start a fresh tally next week rather than carrying the number forward.

When you miss
Close the week with the real count, note what limited variety, and begin a fresh tally next week. Do not compensate by undereating or forcing unsafe foods.
Privacy and safety
Your proof, notes, conversations, and adaptation history stay private unless you deliberately share an action.
Food variety is not a substitute for adequate nutrition or individualized care. Account for allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, and eating-disorder history with qualified guidance.
