What you actually do first

  1. Day 1: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 1 of 30 · 29 to go. Look for something small enough that you would normally walk past it. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  2. Day 2: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 2 of 30 · 28 to go. Name a person, not a circumstance, and say what they actually did. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  3. Day 3: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 3 of 30 · 27 to go. Find one thing in a part of today that went badly. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  4. Day 4: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 4 of 30 · 26 to go. Choose something you built or maintained yourself. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  5. Day 5: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 5 of 30 · 25 to go. Notice something your body did for you without being asked. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  6. Day 6: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 6 of 30 · 24 to go. Pick something that will not still be here in a year. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity.
  7. Day 7: notice what mattered — Week 1 · step 7 of 30 · 23 to go. Name something you almost did not get. Specific, honest observations count; difficult feelings do not need to be replaced with positivity. Close the week by reading the last seven entries and naming the pattern you did not expect.

When you miss

Write for today. Do not manufacture backdated entries or lose the run after a hard day.

Privacy and safety

Your proof, notes, conversations, and adaptation history stay private unless you deliberately share an action.

Gratitude should not be used to dismiss grief, anger, or difficult circumstances. Honest entries count.
